As the country accelerates the national drive to vaccinate the population against COVID-19, IDC has also embarked on the programme to vaccinate its staff.
Some 200 staff from all departments within the company answered the call to get vaccinated.
The first and largest group received the Sinopharm vaccine, while the second group of staff above 60 years and those with special health conditions were administered the AstaZeneca vaccine on the following day.
The vaccination was administered by the IDC Medical Team, Dr. David Payet, nurse Danielle Rene and nurse Jodette Jhugroo.
Staff welcomed the initiative by IDC, as it has been observed that lines at the various vaccinations centres are quite long.
Green Island Construction Company Ltd. (GICC) made a donation towards the COVID-19 Relief Fund.
The contribution of USD 100,000 was presented to President Wavel Ramkalawan at State House by the Chairman of IDC/GICC, Mr. Patrick Berlouis.
“This gesture is in solidarity with our Seychellois brothers and sisters in these trying times, and it is our small contribution towards the national effort to overcome this health emergency,” Mr. Berlouis said, adding that “We are also mindful of, and grateful for, the assistance that the Government extended to IDC, GICC’s parent company last year. This donation is therefore also a token of the company’s sincere appreciation for this support.”
GICC, was incorporated in April 2012 with the objective of carrying on the business of building and civil engineering contractors on Mahe, Praslin and La Digue.
