IDC AVIATION

The Aviation Department of the Islands Development Company is based at Pointe Larue, about 1 km south of the Seychelles International Airport. The Aviation Department is responsible for IDC's fleet of aircraft and runs flight charter services to the islands.

Department Structure

The IDC Aviation Department comprises of four sections: Aircraft Maintenance, Flight Operations, Ground Operations and Aviation Security. Across these four sections, IDC employs a total of 46 members of staff. The Aviation Department is responsible for IDC's fleet of four aircraft: three Beechcraft B-1900,  and a Y-12. Further details on the IDC fleet can be found below.

Activities & Objectives

The ultimate aim of the Aviation Department of IDC is to provide transportation for IDC workers, visitors and investors, taking them to and from the different islands managed by the company, helping to ensure IDC's islands are properly supplied, serviced and connected whilst also assisting their economic development and their conservation needs​. The Aviation Department also provides chartered flights to IDC islands.

Flight Charter

The Aviation Department operates charter flights to the following islands: Alphonse, Assomption, Astove, Coetivy, Desroches, Farquhar, Marie-Louise, Ile Plate and Poivre. All charters are dependent upon aircraft availability. For more information about inter-island flight options or regional charter flights, please contact us at aviation@idc.sc.

AIRCRAFT SPECIFICATIONS

The Aviation Department is responsible for the IDC fleet of aircraft, which comprises of two models: the Beechcraft
​B-1900and the Y-12.

The Beechcraft B-1900

Seat Capacity: 18 Passengers
Maximum Take-Off Weight: 17,120 lbs. or 7781 kg

The Y12*

Seat Capacity: 14 Passengers
Maximum Take-Off Weight: 12,474 lbs. or 5,670 kg
